According to report from Poker Affiliate Solutions, the Merge Gaming Network will begin allowing new players from the United States to sign up at its member poker rooms within the next week. One of the rooms on the network, Sportsbook.com, started accepting new U.S. customers yesterday.
ESPN continued its broadcast of the 2011 WSOP w/ the $50K Poker Player’s Championship featuring Phil Hellmuth, Brian Rast, Ben Lamb, Scott Seiver, Matt Glantz, Owais Ahmed, George Lind, & Minh Ly.
The first day of the inaugural Epic Poker League Main Event kicked off on Tuesday and when the players bagged up their chips, it was New York’s Eugene Katchalov that sat in the lead. With 356,300 chips, Katchalov has almost a 70,000 chip lead over his closest opponent. With blinds and antes about to be 600/1,200/200, that lead is not insignificant, although there is still a lot of poker left to be played.
The Epic Poker League kicked off with its inaugural Main Event on Tuesday and 137 of the biggest pros in the world came out to play. Eugene Katchalov leads the remaining field after Day 1 with a massive stack of 356,300 in chips.
