Recently federal prosecutors in the US seized multiple homes as part of their crackdown on online poker sites. The homes belong to a former Playboy Playmate who married one of those online poker room employees who were indicted. Destiny Davis, Playboy Magazine’s Miss January in 2005, saw her Las Vegas mansion seized because she married Chad Elie, who was charged with conspiring to commit bank fraud by processing online poker site payments. One of the Full Tilt Poker founders, Ray Bitar, also had homes seized.

Poker player and media personality Bernard Lee is celebrating the fourth anniversary of The Bernard Lee Poker Show this month with two of the game’s biggest names as guests. Former World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event Champion Greg Raymer and 2009 Bluff Magazine Player of the Year Jason Mercier will join Bernard on the show, which airs Tuesdays nights on AM radio in Massachusetts and is simulcast on www.RoundersRadio.com.

Gavin Smith, to name one poker pro, will play in the Federated Poker League. That is, of course, if the league launches, which many poker players doubt. The league is the brainchild of Annie Duke and Jeffrey Pollack, an invitation only league for poker pros alone. Gavin Smith has announced that he will be happy to play in the league if it launches, and Duke recently announced some criteria that suggests it may become a reality. In fact so far 218 players have received invitations to play in the poker tournaments for two, three or five years at a pop.

The high-stakes online action was fairly substantial during the midweek. Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies finished the week as the third biggest winner. Also, Sorel Mizzi took the top stop in the FTOPS XX Leaderboard.
