The Durrr Challenge is going against the titular player. The latest battle has poker pros Tom “Durrr” Dwan facing Dan “jungleman12” Cates and Cates is ahead. The challenge is set in the online poker room Full Tilt Poker, and has players with a deep enough bankroll take on Dwan in super high stakes cash games with millions on the line. Cates so far is up around $1.2 million, on his way to beating the super poker prodigy Dwan, a sponsored pro on the online poker room.

Paul Quinn wants his £20,000 back from the police. The Derry man and his brother Terence plead guilty to running an illegal poker game when the jackpot money was seized. The men and their poker players had built the jackpot over time to pay out in one final night, but the funds were taken by the police when they busted the game in 2009. Now Quinn reports that the players are getting angry and assume he has the money, and he wants it to pay them off.

The latest winner of a WSOPC event is Ali Eslami. The poker pro took down the WSOPC Western Regional Championship poker game. Eslami is a high stakes cash game player who won the biggest single prize in his career so far at the event. His first place prize was $282,242 in cash. He will also recive a berth in the World Series of Poker 2011 Main Event in Las Vegas this Summer. Eslami outlasted 98 players to win. Second place went to Tim West for $174,443 while D.J. Blanchard picked up $124,204 for third and Steve Brecher grabbed $90,223 for fourth.
