Online poker room PokerStars recently announced the appointment of two new executives. The poker site has appointed Guy Templer as the new Corporate Business Development Director. Templer was the former Chief Operating Officer of Netplay TV. The other appointment is Lee Jones, who actually worked for PokerStars before. Jones will be the Head of Home Games, a new feature for the poker room. Jones was previously the Poker Room Manager at PokerStars from 2003 through 2007. Jones was always well respected by the players at PokerStars, so brining him back to the fold was likely a strong move on the part of the online poker room.

In breaking news, PokerSoftware.com, which provides written and video reviews of many of the industry’s top poker software programs, has put yet another feather in its cap. This time, Poker Office was added to the site’s Free Poker Software program, which allows players to receive a complimentary piece of software just for signing up for a major online poker site like PokerStars or UB.com.

Online poker magazine PokerListings may soon be the new owner of a major poker room. The Cake Poker site will go along with the Cake Poker Network, which PokerListings is rumored to be contemplating ownership of. While so far neither party has commented on the issue a number of online sites are claiming that the deal is pending and that indeed the rumor has been corroborated by BLUFF Magazine. Those interested in the movements of poker rooms will be watchign closely; one source stated that if it is going to happen the sale will take place in the next 15 days.
