The poker pros seemed like they could not lose, and the mystery player XWINK wound up with more than six hundred thousand dollars in winnings in just 24 hours. XWINK managed this streak by playing nearly five thousand hands and got the majority of his winnings from two other players who lost heavily.
Last week, it was revealed that the PokerStars North American Poker Tour (NAPT) stop at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles would lose its title sponsor. The show must go on, however, as the series is currently taking place and has become known as the Big Event. A southern state in the United States continues to fight illegal poker games. Sumpter, South Carolina was the scene of a police raid that ended in the seizure of illegal poker machines. Poker players would no longer be able to find their game at Monzingo's Grocery on North Main Street, where officer took almost 5,000 prescription pills, drug paraphernalia, and more than $16,000 in cash. Ravindrabhai Patel was arrested and charged with three counts of illegal possession of prescription drugs, two counts of operating a gaming house and other charges. South Carolina has a long history of poker crackdowns both for live and online poker.
