Carbon Poker Unveils New VIP Program

Beginning on Friday, Carbon Poker unveiled a site redesign, a new logo, and has revamped its VIP Program to make it more valuable for its players.

“After a lot of personal testing and user feedback, we’ve created a new look and feel for Carbon Poker,” Atil Singh, the Head of Acquisitions at Carbon Poker, tool Poker News Daily. “We wanted to stay true to what Carbon Poker is and where it’s going. We relied on player suggestions to enhance our VIP Program and are excited about the way it will reward them. Get ready for more exciting programs, tourneys, and announcements in 2011 – it’s going to be a big year for Carbon Poker.”

The new-look Carbon Poker now has a predominantly blue color background, which makes it easier on players’ eyes as they are grinding on the virtual felt. A major feature of its software is that it is available to players through either Macs or Windows-based computers, something that not every online room offers.

The Carbon Poker software also offers several of the options that you might see in a physical poker room, such as “deal it twice,” the option of exposing one card to opponents when you fold, and rabbit hunting.

Of all the changes to Carbon Poker, the most important one to players may be the VIP Program. The new VIP Program features five different levels of achievement for players – Earth, Wind, Fire, Water, and Ether – with differing point requirements to reach each. Naturally, the rewards for players get better the higher a player goes.

All players start at Carbon Poker at the Earth level of the VIP Program. By earning just 2,000 VIP Points in a month, however, Carbon Poker players will step up to the Wind level. This allows players to earn a higher percentage of cash back on their rake, a better payout rate when a player exchanges their VIP Points for money, and access to the VIP Rewards Store. When a player reaches Ether VIP status, those members can exchange 20,000 VIP Points for $700 in cash.

By being a member of the Carbon Poker VIP Program, players can also earn special consideration in all of the site’s excellent promotions. These promotions, such as the Money Tree, the King of the Hill, and the Weekend Warrior, offer the opportunity to compete in different leaderboard competitions.

The new changes at Carbon Poker come as the site prepares for a very special weekend of tournament action. On Saturday, players who have earned 500 VIP Points in February will compete in the 100 Seats to $100K Freeroll. This freeroll will award the top 100 finishers with a seat into a special $100,000 guaranteed tournament.

The $109 buy-in event will feature two rebuys and one add-on for its players, making it likely that the $100,000 guarantee will be cracked. A previous tournament on Carbon Poker, held in January with a guaranteed $75,000 prize pool, burst through that guarantee by handing out an $88,000 prize pool to its survivors. Play now.

  • FORCED BET - In some stud games a player may be required to make a bet to start the action on the first card. This is similar conceptually to blinds and antes, but in this case is dependent on the cards shown rather than player position. Usually the weakest hand is forced to bet.

  • SPLIT [THE POT] - To split the pot between two or more players. Related term: QUARTER.
  • SMALL BLIND - In games with two blinds the first blind is the SMALL BLIND because it is usually one-half (or less) the second or large blind.
