The Showdown – Episode 8, Part 2
The Showdown Episode 8 continues with guest Jason Koon.

The discussion starts with Koon’s bankroll and his potential use of still using a backer. When asked if he’s still going to use a backer, Koon responded:
“Well, the thing is if you are going to play in all these tournaments, you have to have a couple million dollars to be properly rolled for the $25ks, so I plan on staying back and in some cases selling action. Also, as a shout out to my backer Bryn Kenny, he’s like the best tournament player in the world. He’s been an excellent teacher and it’s been a privilege learning from him and it’s made me so much better.”
When asked if it might upset Kenny if he has some money in make-up he might owe, and that Koon just won half a million dollars on his own, Koon was quite frank. “Well, that WPT makes him feel a lot better but no, he’s busy winning $100k high roller tournaments so I am just a glitch on the radar.”
Koon is coming off a final table at the WPT Festa al Lago for a big score. It has yet to air on Fox Sports Net and this will mark the first television appearance for Koon. Will we think Koon’s an idiot once we see him play on television?
“Well, I don’t know how many hands of mine will air. We all had a low chipstack, the average stack was like 20 big blinds so there was a lot of raising and re-shoving. So, there wasn’t much room for me to look great or look like a goof. But I think my bust-out hand is going to be really interesting for TV,” said Koon.
