An English poker pro was recently taken to stand trial for murder. Marcus Bebb-Jones, 46, is accused of murdering his wife in 1997. The poker player reportedly then went on a poker and online poker playing spree with his wife’s credit cards, leading what some have called a “playboy lifestyle” in Sin City, the United States gambling Mecca Las Vegas. He faces felony charges of first-degree murder, concealing death and domestic violence. After his wife went missing the couple’s three year old son was found alone in a Las Vegas motel room, and shortly after Bebb-Jones failed in a suicide attempt.

Poker News Daily Guest Columnist Linda Johnson is the pacesetter after Day 1 of the World Poker Tour (WPT) Celebrity Invitational. The tournament, which began with a massive field of nearly 500 players on Saturday and is being housed at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles, now stands at 115 runners. The 19th Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) Main Event kicks off at 5:00pm ET on Sunday and is expected to at least double its $3 million guaranteed prize pool.
