The game is so popular that poker players flock to it in areas where online poker may be illegal, which is one reason why the parent company of Facebook Texas Holdem is worth more than eight billion dollars US. Many are pointing to the recent revelation of the poker game company’s worth as a reason why poker should be legalized, pointing out the popularity and potential revenue that would come as a result.

At the 10th Annual European Poker Awards Jake Cody has been named Rookie of the Year. Cody’s record includes a WPT and an EPT victory. The poker player scored both victories within seven months. The poker games where he secured first were European Poker Tour Deauville and World Poker Tour London. His total winnings at these poker tournaments were over $1.6 million. The 10th Annual European Poker Awards ceremony took place at the Queenie Club, just down the street from the Aviation Club where it was held before.
