With the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) behind us, the industry’s attention shifted to another one of the year’s most popular tournament destinations last week. The 2011 Aussie Millions kicked off last Thursday at the Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia and a whopping 762 players showed up for the opening event, an AUD $1,000 buy-in No Limit Hold’em tournament. The series, which includes a total of 20 events, runs through Sunday, January 30th and features not only the AUD $10,000 buy-in Main Event, but also an AUD $100,000 High-Roller tournament that draws the biggest names in poker annually.

On Tuesday, a field of 543 players turned out for Event #7 of the ongoing UB.com Online Championship, or UBOC. The $320 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack tournament featured two-time bracelet winner Brandon Cantu as its host and offered up a $162,000 prize pool. When the final cards were dealt, ED_ANGELIS walked away with a $40,000 top prize.
