On Saturday, the saga over the identity of mystery Swedish online poker pro Isildur1 came to an end when PokerStars announced that it was indeed Viktor Blom. The pro, who recently updated his Facebook account to show that he was employed by PokerStars since December, promptly faced off against fellow site pro Bertrand “Elky” Grospellier in a live 100-hand $25/$50 heads-up match.
A cryptic Tweet from Phil Hellmuth’s agent regarding the upcoming year has many in the poker world scurrying to figure out what the “Poker Brat’s” moves will be in 2011.
Former UB.com pro Phil Hellmuth started the weekend off with a bang by meeting with Full Tilt Poker officials at the Wynn in Las Vegas. The get-together comes a little over one week following his departure from UB.com, where he served as one of the main faces of the USA-friendly site for nearly a decade.

As reported by Forbes Magazine, Federal prosecutors have seized nearly $8 million from financial institutions in Washington State that were holding money for processors of major online poker sites like PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, UB.com, and Absolute Poker. The move reportedly came in the past two weeks and is the latest in the Department of Justice’s crackdown on online gambling in the U.S.
Qualifiers are under way for the biggest bounty event of the year at Full Tilt Poker.
The final table is set in the $100,000 buy-in Super High Roller Event at the 2011 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA). Seven players will vie for the top prize of $1.5 million and, amazingly, the field is not yet in the money, as only the top five will walk away with cash in tow. The tournament originally drew 38 players.
