The Twitterverse has been blowing up with poker players chirping about their activities around Las Vegas. With the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event in full swing and the World Poker Tour’s (WPT) Bellagio Cup beginning, many in the poker community are looking for their last bit of action before taking a few weeks off.
On August 4th, the 17th Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) will kick off on Full Tilt Poker. Encompassing 34 events and offering up at least $19 million in guaranteed prize money, the tournament series is guaranteed to attract the top names the poker world has to offer.
We caught up with Joe Cada during Day 2 of his 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event, and talked with the reigning champ about his life since winning, and what he likes to do in Las Vegas.
So far, slashing the price tag of the World Poker Tour’s (WPT) Bellagio Cup VI has paid dividends, as the field of 310 that have signed up at the Las Vegas casino outpaces last year’s tally of 268. Registration for the $10,000 buy-in event remains open through the end of the first level on Tuesday. If players pony up the five-figure buy-in, they’ll be given a stack of about 20 big blinds to work with.
After the day of rest on Sunday, the 2010 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event got back underway on Monday, as for the first time in a week, the entire tournament field played at the same time. 2,559 players began Day 3 with high hopes, but with the knowledge that even if they made it through the day, they would still be a long way from making the money.
