Howard Lederer Interview with Bernard Lee Part 2
The Hijack Seat with Bernard Lee concludes its interview with one of the legends of the game, Howard Lederer. The first part of this video can be seen here
In part one Lederer talked about Doyle Brunson’s card protector but the focus of this second half of the interview looks at Lederer himself. He talks at length about the charity he does with various other pros including Phil Gordon, Dennis Phillips and his sister, Annie Duke. He also provides a somewhat surprising answer to what his favorite game (besides No Limit Hold’em) is to play on top of some other interesting answers.
Howard Lederer is a sponsored pro at Full Tilt Poker and Bernard Lee can be found on ESPN’s Inside Deal on top of his guest columns here at Poker News Daily.

Poker lexicon:
- OUT - [1] A card that will improve your hand, often substantially. A hand with many OUTS is preferable to a hand with only 1 or 2. [2] Folded, ineligible to bet or win this hand. "I'm out" is often a synonym for "I fold".
- FLOP GAME - Any of a number of poker games where a flop is dealt.
- CHASE - To continue in a hand, often at poor odds, in the hopes of catching a much better hand. "He called, chasing the flush.".
- ROYAL FLUSH - An ace-high straight flush, the best possible hand in regular poker.
- SIDE POT - When an active player runs out of money during the course of a hand, the remaining players participate in a second or SIDE POT for the rest of the hand. Additional side pots are possible if several players run out of money at different points in a hand.
- QUARTER - [1] Twenty-five dollars, often symbolized by a green casino chip. [2] To divide half a pot between two tying hands. In split pot games, a player who "ties" another player for their half of the pot is said to be "quartered". One might say "I didn't bet my A-2 because I figured I'd get quartered".
