Billy Baxter Interview with Bernard Lee
The Hijack Seat is back with poker legend Billy Baxter, interviewed by our own Bernard Lee. In this exclusive interview, Baxter discusses topics that include who might be the best 7-2 Lowball player in the world in addition to why it’s such a great poker game. Afterwards he talks about his WSOP experiences of the past and also talks a bit about fellow legend Stu Ungar.
Billy Baxter is a veteran of the poker scene with seven World Series of Poker bracelets to his name. His bracelets come from lowball games Razz, Deuce-to-Seven and California Lowball draw. Baxter’s career tournament winnings exceed over $2.1 million and has 28 cashes to his name at the WSOP. He recently final tabled the World Poker Tour Five-Diamond Bellagio Championship and continues to be a living legend of the game.

Poker dictionary:
- LOOSE - Playing more hands than the norm. Antonym: TIGHT.
- READ - To determine whether an opponent has a good, medium or bad hand by observing his personal behavior. An inexact science.
- NICKEL - Five dollars, usually represented by a red casino check.
- NUT / NUTS - The best possible hand of a given class. Not a LOCK unless all cards have been dealt. The "nut flush" is the highest possible flush, but might still lose to, e.g., a full house. Usually used in Hold'em games.
- MITES AND LICE - A hand consisting of two pair, threes over twos.
- RAINBOW - In flop games, a flop in which no two cards are of the same suit. "The flop was A 9 7 rainbow."
