Robert Mizrachi – Poker Player Profile
Born in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida in 1978, Robert Mizrachi was taught the game of poker by his mother at a very young age. The eldest of four boys, Robert introduced poker to his brothers and it remained a common thread between them as they grew up. While his younger sibling Michael ‘The Grinder’ is arguably the most famous Mizrachi brother, Robert has carved out a nice career for himself as well. Michael’s twin Eric is also a poker player, while their youngest brother Daniel Mizrachi is a professional magician.
Robert Mizrachi’s career really took off in 2003 after he finished second in a $1000 No Limit Hold’em event at the Showdown at the Sands series for $24K. The money boosted his confidence, but even more the notion that he could compete on the live tournament circuit and win. A year later, the trend continued as he won the Master Classics of Poker in Amsterdam for $482K. In 2006, he recorded another huge score, taking fourth in the $7800 World Poker Tour Poker Stars Caribbean Adventure for $409K.
At the 2007 World Series of Poker, Robert became the first Mizrachi brother to win a bracelet when he shipped the $10K World Championship Pot Limit Omaha event for $768K. Of his six cashes in ’07, three were final tables. His victory in the PLO tournament was made all the more impressive by the star-studded final table, which included names like Patrik Antonius, Marco Traniello, Tommy Ly, Steven Sung, and Doyle Brunson.
More recently, Mizrachi made waves at the 2009 UB.com Aruba Poker Classic, finishing second for $414K. All told, Robert has over $3 million in live tournament winnings, $1.2 million of which is spread over 18 WSOP cashes.
When he’s not traveling the world playing in poker tournaments, Robert Mizrachi can be found playing online at Full Tilt Poker, where he plays as a sponsored pro under the username Robert Mizrachi.
