April 23rd – Daily Deal

Coming up next on the Daily Deal, we will talk about the Ante Up for Africa event, talk about Liv Boeree’s San Remo win and discover Phil Laak’s secret strategy for the PartyPoker Big Game IV.

Hello, I’m Sean Gibson and welcome to the Daily Deal by Poker News Daily, brought to you by PokerSource.com.

It has been confirmed that Matt Damon and Ben Affleck will return to the Ante Up for Africa charity tournament. Since its creation it has brought in over $3 million to humanitarian causes in Africa. The $5,000 buy-in event is slated for July 3rd.

Liv Boeree won the European Poker Tour’s championship in San Remo, Italy. She tweeted from the event confirming her victory and her poker friends tweeted back with messages of congratulations. Boeree won one point two five million euros for taking down that tournament.

Up Next, what was Phil Laak’s winning strategy at the PartyPoker Big Game IV?

In an interview with Poker News Daily, Phil Laak said that he actually never expected Isildur1 to show up. He said that his strategy for the 48 hour game was that by hour 30 or 40 that if you bet and they fold, you win and that if you bet and they call you had to make sure your cards hit the board.

Meanwhile here at the Bellagio the WPT Championship is down to 10 players and we will play down today to the final six. Very early on we saw a sick elimination of Cliff “Johnny Bax” Josephy at the hands of David Williams. Johnny Bax showed pocket 9s for top set and Williams showed a flopped straight. Johnny Bax hit his boat on the turn but Williams rivered a straight flush.

Thanks for tuning in for The Daily Deal, this is Sean Gibson reporting from the Fontana Lounge at the Bellagio. I’ll see you next time.
