Mike “TIMEX” McDonald has quit poker. Isn’t he too young to retire? Marty Smyth is appealing to your heart strings to get votes for the 2010 World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions and more all in tonight’s Nightly Turbo.
British-based gambling company Ladbrokes announced this week that Richard Glynn will be appointed the company’s next Chief Executive Officer. Glynn, 45, has served as Chairman of Sporting Index since May 2008 after spending seven years as its Chief Executive. He will start his new position at Ladbrokes on April 22nd.
“From Busto to Robusto” debuted with a compelling documentary look at “Captain Zeebo” and his journey from a nobody to a self-made millionaire through online poker. The story riveted viewers by taking a bold look at his journey through bipolar disorder and struggling with the sheer magnitude of his success. With requests coming in from all sides of the industry for another episode, the series returned with Episode 2, which focused on Victory Poker pro Andrew “good2cu” Robl.

One of the hot topics over the past few days was the victory on Tuesday by Bryan “badbeatninja” Devonshire at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit Championship at Harrah’s Rincon in San Diego. After battling over 4½ hours against former WSOP bracelet winners Howard “Tahoe” Andrew and Dan Schreiber, Devonshire took down a monumental victory in his poker career. As soon as the last card fell, the Tweets bounced across the internet congratulating the 28 year-old online and live professional.
Today is April Fools Day and if you’ve been perusing our competition, you may have noticed several gag stories. Rather than write one of our own, we’ll outline some of the top April Fools Day headlines we concocted.
