ARCHER HITS BULLSEYE AT POKER EVENT
Charlie Archer of Plentywood took aim at the competition and hit a bullseye to place first in the Texas Hold em poker tournament held Saturday, March 27, at the Scobey Saddle Club. The fundraiser, which attracted 40 players, was sponsored by Scobey Alumni Foundation, Inc. and Border Sports.

Poker terminology:
- RUSH - A winning streak. Also "ON A RUSH".
- FLOORMAN - The casino representative in charge of the card room or a section of a card room. Arbitrates disputes when unusual events happen.
- BRODERICK CRAWFORD - In Hold'em, hole cards of 10-4. From the 1950s TV series "Highway Patrol", starring Broderick Crawford.
- IN - Still eligible to win the pot. "I'm in" is often spoken as one adds chips to the pot, calling.
- STAKE - The amount of a player's BUY-IN, or the amount of money they are willing to play with in a given session. Compare: BANKROLL.
- SHORT-STACKED - Playing with a only a small amount of money, thus limiting one's risk and reward.
