Phil Hellmuth: Breaking down a huge pot in High Stakes Poker
With GSN’s High Stakes Poker recently kicking off another new season, I wanted to take a look back at a great hand played on that show in 2007. If you don’t know already, HSP is a high-stakes, no-limit Hold ‘em cash game.

Poker argot:
- BLANK - Used in describing stud and Hold'em games. Refers to a dealt card that does not offer any value; stating the actual rank and suit would detract from a description of the hand. "The last card was a blank.".
- MUCK - [1] A collection of face-down cards near the dealer composed of discards, i.e., folded hands, burns and discards for drawing purposes. [2] To throw one's cards into the muck, thus folding.
- SHOWDOWN - The point at the end of the hand where all active players reveal their cards and the pot is awarded to the winner(s).
- RAIL - A barrier dividing the card playing area from a public area.
- DOUBLE BELLY BUSTER - A two-way inside straight. E.g., 3-5-6-7-9.
- FAMILY POT - A pot where all of the players at the table are participating, even after each has had an opportunity to act.
