VIDEO: Poker club moves into downtown
LORAIN Mike Kennedy has always wanted a place to play poker in Lorain, and yesterday, his dream came true. Kennedy and co-owner Stan Moon hosted the grand opening of Kennedy’s Player’s Club on West Fourth Street, the former site of a fitness club.

Casino poker language:
- LOWBALL - Generic term for poker where the lowest hand wins.
- HIGH-LOW SPLIT - Forms of poker in which the pot is split between the best hand and best lowball hand.
- CHASE - To continue in a hand, often at poor odds, in the hopes of catching a much better hand. "He called, chasing the flush.".
- SET - In Hold'em, three of a kind where two of the cards are hole cards.
- COMMUNITY CARDS - Cards that are available for every player to use in making a hand. Usually dealt face up somewhere in the middle of the table.
- HIT - To make a hand or catch a card or cards that improves one's hand. "I hit a gut-shot draw on the river."
