Poker tournament to aid Mundell family
Local law enforcement officers are organizing a Texas hold em poker tournament in honor of slain Pierce County sheriffs deputy Kent Mundell.

Poker terminology:
- CARDS SPEAK - Winner(s) of the hand are determined by turning their cards face up, the best hand(s) wins (no declaration).
- BOARD - The exposed cards in Hold'em and stud. Also BOARD CARDS.
- EDGE - An advantage over an opponent, either specific or subjective.
- HOOK - A Jack. So named because the "J" resembles a hook.
- SPLIT [OPENERS] - In draw poker, to discard one or more openers, usually to draw to a straight or flush. Normally requires the opener to declare the act and retain the discards so that the act of opening can later be validated.
- RUSH - A winning streak. Also "ON A RUSH".
