Poker Alice playing in Dell Rapids
Poker Alice will perform from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. March 6 at the Grand Opera House Theater in Dell Rapids. People can dance to rockabilly, country, polka and more. Cost is $10. For information, call 428-3580.

Poker talk:
- NO-LIMIT POKER - A game where there is no maximum bet; a player can wager any amount (perhaps above some minimum) up to whatever money is on the table in front of him.
- SHOWDOWN - The point at the end of the hand where all active players reveal their cards and the pot is awarded to the winner(s).
- POT LIMIT - A game where the maximum bet is determined by the size of the pot at the time. Note that a player wanting to raise first calls the bet, then totals the pot to determine the maximum amount he can raise.
- LATE POSITION - For a particular betting round, a player who does not have to act until most of the other players have acted.
- HOOK - A Jack. So named because the "J" resembles a hook.
- STRAIGHT - A hand consisting of 5 cards in sequence but not in suit.
