A n interesting hand came up while playing in the UltimateBet.com Online Poker Championships last week. With the blinds at $200/$400 plus a $25 ante, I was sitting on $10,000 in chips with Q-10 offsuit in the cutoff position one position to the right of the button.

Poker slang:
- UNDERDOG - Before all the cards are dealt, a hand that does not figure to be the winner. Ant: FAVORITE.
- STUCK - Down a nontrivial amount of money, as in "he's stuck $800".
- COLD CALL - Calling both a bet and raise at the same time, as opposed to calling a bet then later calling a raise made after the call.
- BIG BOBTAIL - An open-ended 4-card straight flush.
- SIXTH STREET - The sixth card dealt in 7-card stud.
- PAY OFF - Calling a bet with little expectation of winning, unless the opponent is bluffing.
