Quebec Keen to Offer Online Poker This Year

February 8 - Quebec’s finance minister says that online poker playing citizens are not currently protected and that money goes to illegal channels.

STUD - Any of several poker games in which some of each players' cards are exposed.
ONE-EYED - The jack of hearts, jack of spades or king of diamonds. So named because the characters are drawn in profile, thus showing only one eye.
POT LIMIT - A game where the maximum bet is determined by the size of the pot at the time. Note that a player wanting to raise first calls the bet, then totals the pot to determine the maximum amount he can raise.
PASSED OUT. - A hand in which nobody opens. What happens next is a function of the game being played.
STRAIGHT - A hand consisting of 5 cards in sequence but not in suit.
MILES OF BAD ROAD - Three of a kind. Prefixed with a number, 3*<N>, to indicate 3 <N>s. Thus "24 miles of bad road" is 3 eights, etc. (This obviously doesn't work for face cards.)
