King Solomons Poker Moves to iPoker Network

The move from the Boss Media Network to the iPoker Network is almost complete for the small online poker room King Solomons Poker.  The site recently announced that players with accounts on its old Boss Media International Poker Network (IPN) site will no longer have access to the Boss Media-powered tables as of Monday, February 1st.

Players with a King Solomons account will still have time to cash out and access their accounts following the closure on Monday, but they will no longer be able to play, according to an e-mail sent out to all King Solomons customers earlier this month.  “We regret to inform you that on 31st January 2010 King Solomons Poker will be closing its doors on the Boss Media Network,” the e-mail began.

The electronic communication went on to offer the following details: “Players will still be able to access their accounts in order to cash out after this time, but they will be unable to access the games. We regret we have been forced to take this step and wish to take this opportunity to thank you for your hard work in supporting us over the years.”

Though the e-mail does not indicate it, the site is not actually going away for good and is, in fact, just switching networks.  The site was part of the Boss Media Network, a Swedish company that controls and operates IPN.  According to the website PokerScout.com, the network averaged between 2,000 and 3,000 cash game players at any given time across a number of small online poker rooms over the past six months.  Sites hosted on IPN include BetClick, Poker Heaven, Virgin Poker, Total Poker, InterPoker, Ramblas Poker, and A Winning Hand Poker.

Now, King Solomons Poker calls the iPoker Network home and is using a version of the site powered by Playtech software.  According to King Solomons Poker’s official website, there were over 25,000 players across the Playtech tables at time of writing, which marks a substantial jump over the traffic coming through the site on IPN.  Other sites on the iPoker Network include Chili Poker, Titan Poker, CD Poker, Mansion Poker, and Boyle Poker.

Neither the King Solomons Poker webpage nor the IPN site offered any sort of announcement, but a Twitter feed dedicated to the site, @KSPoker, made mention of the transition to iPoker late last year.  In September, the site decided to shift over to the iPoker Network, but had been running the two sites concurrently since the King Solomons Poker launch on the new network on September 1st.  Now, four months later, the move appears to be complete.  The aforementioned Twitter account has been dormant since November 10th and offered no updates on the time and date of the Boss Media closure.

According to the King Solomons Poker website, the room is still running and offering its weekly $250,000 Guaranteed as well as a monthly event with a $1 million guarantee.  These are the two richest tournaments available on the site.  King Solomons Poker also offers Omaha, Omaha High-Low, and Seven Card Stud in addition to No Limit Hold’em.
