Legislators to consider poker game fundraisers
Prince George’s County fire companies and charities are asking the Maryland General Assembly for permission to start hosting poker card game tournaments at meeting halls to help with fundraising.

Poker jargon:
- HOOK - A Jack. So named because the "J" resembles a hook.
- TAP - In no-limit games, to wager all of one's money in one bet.
- LIVE ONE - The best kind of opponent, a poor player with a lot of money to lose and in a hurry to lose it.
- LITTLE SLICK - In Hold'em, hole cards of A-2, suited or not.
- TRIPS - Three of a kind. In Hold'em the term SET is used when two of the three cards are hole cards.
- BARN - A FULL HOUSE, three of a kind and a pair.
