For three innings Saturday night, Cole Hamels was the cold-blooded, poker-faced playoff ace that the Phillies grew to know last season, mowing down one hitter after another with a fastball-changeup combination that worked to near perfection.

 

Oh, these games we play. Horse racing may be the sport of kings and baseball the national pastime, but no other contest has occupied the world in recent years like poker.

 

Dave Rauschkolb is a man of many talents noted surfer, successful restaurateur, and now, winning poker player. In September, Rauschkolb won the main event at the Emerald Coast Poker Championship at Ebro, beating out 67 others and taking home $9,100.
