After nine years of planning, building, bickering and delays, the Elmwood Oasis Truck Stop in Harahan finally has been granted a video poker license. Co-owner George Ackel made the announcement at Thursday’s Harahan City Council meeting.
FALLBROOK The Coyote Country chapter of the Ninety-Nines is holding its 18th annual Poker Run on September 19 (backup date September 26). ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., Sept. 17 (UPI) — A man who won the $20,982 first prize at an Atlantic City casino’s ladies poker tournament has drawn the ire of his female competition.
Last week, Harrah’s, the World Series of Poker (WSOP), and the Poker Hall of Fame Governing Council announced the final list of players to be considered for induction into the Hall this fall. What was originally a 10-man list was chopped to nine when online sensation Tom “durrrr” Dwan was left off because, in the Governing Council’s opinion, Dwan fell short of the “standing the test of time” criteria for Hall consideration. This has brought out differing opinions among some in the world of poker.
It’s nearly back to square one for the cast of the G4 online poker show “2 Months, $2 Million.” This week’s episode, which was the first to air on a Wednesday night, saw Brian Roberts drop $111,000, essentially pushing the team back to even overall.
