Annual Poker/Dice Run in Forsyth County
September 03, 2009 Forsyth County - The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office is holding its eighth annual Dice/Poker Run Sept. 20 in the memory of Sgt. David Land. All proceeds will benefit the Georgia Sheriffs Youth Homes.

Poker talk:
- STRAIGHT - A hand consisting of 5 cards in sequence but not in suit.
- REPRESENT - Implying, by one's betting style, that one has a particular hand.
- CHASE - To continue in a hand, often at poor odds, in the hopes of catching a much better hand. "He called, chasing the flush.".
- FLOORMAN - The casino representative in charge of the card room or a section of a card room. Arbitrates disputes when unusual events happen.
- WIRED [PAIR] - A pair in the hole. In 5-card stud, a door card that pairs the hole card.
- PAT HAND - In draw poker, a hand that does not need any more cards. Specifically, a straight, flush, full house or straight flush. One might bluff and represent a pat hand but actually hold something else.
