County studying its video poker hand
By the end of the year, Lake County officials will make a decision on the state’s video poker program. “I do expect the board to take action, but we haven’t had that discussion yet,” County Board Chairwoman Suzi Schmidt said.

Poker glossary:
- POT - The total amount of money bet so far in a hand.
- OPENERS - Cards in a hand that qualify a player to open the betting.
- THIRD STREET - In Stud, the third card dealt to each player.
- ROYAL FLUSH - An ace-high straight flush, the best possible hand in regular poker.
- BICYCLE - The best possible low hand: A-2-3-4-5. More common term: WHEEL.
- MILES OF BAD ROAD - Three of a kind. Prefixed with a number, 3*<N>, to indicate 3 <N>s. Thus "24 miles of bad road" is 3 eights, etc. (This obviously doesn't work for face cards.)
