Steve Schirripa to try his hand at hosting on NBC poker reality series ‘Face the Ace’
In addition to his role as butcher Leo Boykewich on “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” Steve Schirripa kicks off a hosting gig on NBC’s new poker reality series, “Face the Ace,” Saturday at 9.

Poker lingo:
- PAY OFF - Calling a bet with little expectation of winning, unless the opponent is bluffing.
- STACKED [DECK] - A deck that has been arranged to give one player a huge advantage. Also: RIGGED.
- FIFTH STREET - In stud poker, the fifth card to be dealt to each player. Sometimes used to refer to the last card dealt in Hold'em, although the more common term for this is RIVER (q.v.).
- LOCK - A hand that cannot be beat under any circumstances. Also: NUTS.
- NICKEL - Five dollars, usually represented by a red casino check.
- EDGE - An advantage over an opponent, either specific or subjective.
