World Series of Poker players maneuver during second day
Nearly 1,500 players started the World Series of Poker main event on Tuesday with a flurry of all-in bets as they worked to claim a spot in the event’s third day. While many players simply looked to get through their second sessions without being eliminated, some tried to accumulate large amounts of chips to make a deep run in the no-limit Texas Hold ‘em tournament.

Poker lexicon:
- BLUFF - To make a bet or raise with a poor hand, in hope that the remaining active player(s) will fold.
- OVER - A term used in describing two pair or a full house. "Kings over tens" means two pair, kings and tens. "Jacks over", also "Jacks up" describes a hand that is two pair: Jacks with an unspecified lower pair. Also used to describe a full house, distinguishing the three of a kind from the pair. The hand J-J-J-A-A could be described as "Full house, Jacks over Aces".
- TOP TWO PAIR - In flop games, having hole cards that make the highest possible two pair hand.
- POCKET ROCKETS - In Hold'em, a pair of aces for hole cards.
- OPEN - Make the first bet in a hand, especially in draw poker.
- QUALIFIER - A minimum standard that a hand must meet in order to win. Usually applied to the lowball side of a high-low split pot.
