Despite potential for revenue gains, video poker may bring surge in gambling addiction With lawmakers hoping to make video poker a reality in bars and restaurants throughout Illinois, state government stands to tap a gusher of cash if the new form of gambling plays out as it has in other states.

Poker dictionary:
- TOP TWO PAIR - In flop games, having hole cards that make the highest possible two pair hand.
- FACE CARD - A jack, queen or king (a card with a face on it, not joker).
- RAKE - Money taken from each pot and given to the house in return for hosting the game. Usually a percentage of the pot (5%-10%) up to some maximum amount.
- SET - In Hold'em, three of a kind where two of the cards are hole cards.
- HOYLE - Edmund Hoyle (1769-?) was the authoritative source for rules of card games. Hoyle is to card rules as Webster is to word definitions.
- BUTTON CHARGE - A periodic fee paid by whoever is the button, perhaps every 20 minutes or 30 minutes. Constitutes part or all of the HOUSE CUT.
