For many domestic violence victims, leaving the abuser can mean gambling with their life. Next week, poker players and fans who want to help victims beat the odds can put their money on the table at a Texas hold ‘em tournament to benefit the 1736 Family Crisis Center.

 

The list of 200 internet gambling sites that have come under fire by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety has been released. Many of the websites identified do not accept players from the United States, leaving leaders in the industry scratching their heads.

Adding to its roster of poker-themed shows, NBC has announced plans to air a new poker game show called ‘Face the Ace’. Hosted by actor Steve Schirripa…

 

John Willems, Director of the Minnesota Department of Public Safety’s Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement Division, is leading the effort to compel internet service providers (ISP) to block state residents’ access to at least 200 websites. He sat down with Poker News Daily to discuss the written notice served to ISPs this week.

Earlier this week, the annual World Series of Poker conference call was held, gathering together WSOP Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack, Tournament Director Jack Effel and producers of tournament broadcasting network ESPN to speak with the media.
