Some bikers are trying to break a world record with the world’s largest poker run.
The Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) saw its budget boosted by $130,000 as a result of a fundraiser spearheaded by Jennifer Harman. Over 120 players turned out for the tournament, which took place at the Venetian on Friday night.
As April comes to a close, there are many huge events on the tournament poker calendar. While play begins at the World Poker Tour (WPT) Championship today, next week brings the year-end festivities of the fifth season on the PokerStars-sponsored European Poker Tour (EPT) with its Grand Final. As a part of that schedule of events in Monte Carlo, PokerStars has announced that for the first time ever there will be a charitable tournament before battle begins in the Grand Final.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board continued its onslaught of sub-par performance results for the state’s casinos this month. In recent figures released, it announced that statewide casino “win,” or revenue, dove by 18% in February year over year.
April 18 - The State of Washington issued a Cease and Desist Order for PRWeb to stop spreading stories connected to the online gambling industry. Playing online poker is considered a felony in Washington State, although the law is yet to be enforced.
