Suburbanites pump millions into pokies
Residents of some outer Melbourne municipalities are pumping $10 million a month into poker machines, figures from Victoria’s gambling regulator show.

Poker lexicon:
- CALLER - One who calls. Sometimes used collectively, as in "3 callers".
- FLOP GAME - Any of a number of poker games where a flop is dealt.
- LATE POSITION - For a particular betting round, a player who does not have to act until most of the other players have acted.
- HOLE CARDS - In Stud and Hold'em, the face-down cards dealt to each player.
- LOCK - A hand that cannot be beat under any circumstances. Also: NUTS.
- POT ODDS - The amount of money in the pot divided by the amount of money you must bet in order to call. Often used to determine if a pot offers enough reward to play on the come.
