Iowa Poker Players to Compete Nationally for Thousands in Prizes
Starting this January, Iowa poker players will have a chance to win thousands in cash and prizes. The Heartland Poker League will be offered four days per week in Iowa at Prairie Meadows in Altoona, Meskwaki Bingo and Casino in Tama and Diamond Jo Casino in Northwood.

Poker argot:
- AMERICAN AIRLINES - In Hold'em, a pair of Aces in the hole. Better known (at least in rec.gambling) as POCKET ROCKETS.
- IN - Still eligible to win the pot. "I'm in" is often spoken as one adds chips to the pot, calling.
- BIG BOBTAIL - An open-ended 4-card straight flush.
- IMPLIED ODDS - A refinement to POT ODDS which includes money not yet in the pot. Considers the potential extra bets and winnings made when a player forms a very good hand.
- DRAW - [1] A class of poker games characterized by players being dealt 5 cards face-down and later having the opportunity to replace some of the original 5. "Draw poker" and "Five-card draw" are examples of usage. [2] In stud and Hold'em games, the set of cards that will be dealt later can be collectively called "the draw". [3] To discard some number of cards and have dealt an equal number of replacements.
- STACKED [DECK] - A deck that has been arranged to give one player a huge advantage. Also: RIGGED.
