2009 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Boasts $25k Event
The schedule for the 2009 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure has been announced, and as part of the information the buy in amounts were released, with some interesting numbers. There will be buy ins including the following amounts: $1k, $2k, $5k, and a whopping $25k. Considering the main event of the World Series of Poker is only $10k, this figure is sure to excite more of the high stakes NLHE players, as well as any lucky poker player that wins a seat for a much reduced cost in an online poker qualifier.

Poker glossary:
- BIG BLIND - A blind bet, usually a raise of an earlier blind which would be called the SMALL BLIND. In limit poker, the BIG BLIND is usually the size of the minimum bet on the first round of betting.
- SET - In Hold'em, three of a kind where two of the cards are hole cards.
- WALK - A pot won by the last blind when no one opens.
- PAT - Holding or being dealt a pat hand. "I'm pat" would mean "I don't want to draw any cards.
- OPEN-ENDED STRAIGHT - Four cards to a straight which can be completed by drawing a card at either end. E.g., 6-7-8-9 is an open-ended straight. Also: BOBTAIL STRAIGHT. Compare: INSIDE STRAIGHT.
- MARKED CARDS - Cards that have been (illegally) altered so that their value can be read from the back.
