Poker Tax from Holland
The land of wooden shoes wants to kick up some tax revenue from online poker and other online gambling sites, and has levied a tax to that effect starting September 9. In addition to Dutch players paying a 40.85% tax on online winnings (which is the same if they won in a casino in Holland) if they win on a foreign poker site, they are still subject to the tax. An interesting debate came out of the tax decision: whether or not illegal poker games should be subject to the tax; the answer came back yes.
