World Championship of Online Poker Puts Up Millions
The next big thing in poker this season is the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker, where thirty three events will put up millions in tournament guarantees, with several events topping a million dollars each for the prize pool. With events ranging from the ubiquitous No Limit Texas Holdem to Pot Limit Shorthanded Omaha and others, there are a ton of choices in this online poker series, which starts on September 5th. The main event will have a $10 Million guarantee and be played over two days.

- BIG SLICK - In Texas Hold'em, hole cards of A-K, suited or not.
- BLUFF - To make a bet or raise with a poor hand, in hope that the remaining active player(s) will fold.
- ASSAULT RIFLE - In Omaha, hole cards that are A-K-4-7 of any suit(s).
- HOUSE RULE - Rules and interpretations (e.g., use of wild cards, or rules on having to show beaten hands) that are specific to an establishment or even tables within the establishment.
- MILES OF BAD ROAD - Three of a kind. Prefixed with a number, 3*<N>, to indicate 3 <N>s. Thus "24 miles of bad road" is 3 eights, etc. (This obviously doesn't work for face cards.)
- RING GAME - A standard game where players can come and go as they choose. The opposite of TOURNAMENT.
