Poker Politics at the DNC
Poker players, politicians, and celebrities came out in full force to raise money for the Paralyzed Veterans of America organization. The event was hosted by the Poker Players Alliance, an advocacy group that lobbies for internet poker, at Coors field in Denver, Tuesday night.

Poker slang:
- LATE POSITION - For a particular betting round, a player who does not have to act until most of the other players have acted.
- FIXED LIMIT - A betting structure where the amount of each bet is a specific fixed quantity. Usually specified as A-B, where A is the amount to bet in the first few betting rounds and B (larger than A) is the amount bet in the later rounds. Related terms: FLAT LIMIT, NO LIMIT, POT LIMIT, SPREAD LIMIT.
- BET FOR VALUE - Betting a hand that, in the long run, is expected to win more than it loses. Antonym: BLUFF.
- DOYLE BRUNSON - In Hold'em, 10-2 in the hole. So named because Doyle Brunson won two straight WSOPs (q.v.) in 1975 and 1976 with 10-2 on the last hand. (Suited (spades) in 1975, unsuited in 1976).
- REPRESENT - Implying, by one's betting style, that one has a particular hand.
- FOLD - To decline to call a bet, thus dropping out of a hand.
