Poker Players Alliance to Raid the DNC
When the Democratic National Convention for 2008 takes place around August 25th, the grassroots organization known as the Poker Players Alliance plans on being there. The PPA will hit the DNC on August 26th, and plans on bringing some big name firepower to have its message of poker for all players heard. Actors like Ben Affleck will appear, as well as poker pros like Greg Raymer and Andy Bloch, hoping to bend the ear of people like Illinois Senator Barack Obama, whom it is believed the DNC will officially name the Democratic Party nominee for President of the United States.

- TO GO - The current betting level, as in "$20 to go" meaning every player must contribute $20 (total) or drop. A $10 raise would then make the pot "$30 to go".
- STUCK - Down a nontrivial amount of money, as in "he's stuck $800".
- POT LIMIT - A game where the maximum bet is determined by the size of the pot at the time. Note that a player wanting to raise first calls the bet, then totals the pot to determine the maximum amount he can raise.
- KICKER - In hands containing pairs and trips, the highest card not matched. In draw games, sometimes a card kept for deception purposes.
- RAIL - A barrier dividing the card playing area from a public area.
- LIVE [CARD] - In Stud, a card probably not held by other players.
