While in some parts of the US it might seem like poker players are on the run from police, in South Carolina a Poker Run is being held to help the police, or at least one officer in particular. - DRAW - [1] A class of poker games characterized by players being dealt 5 cards face-down and later having the opportunity to replace some of the original 5. "Draw poker" and "Five-card draw" are examples of usage. [2] In stud and Hold'em games, the set of cards that will be dealt later can be collectively called "the draw". [3] To discard some number of cards and have dealt an equal number of replacements.
- POCKET ROCKETS - In Hold'em, a pair of aces for hole cards.
- OPENER - The player who opens the betting, especially in draw poker. A hand may have no openers, in which case it is PASSED OUT, i.e., new hands are dealt.
- THIRD STREET - In Stud, the third card dealt to each player.
- FISH - A player who loses money. An old saying is "If you can't spot the fish at the table, *you* are the fish.".
- STRAIGHT FLUSH - A hand consisting of 5 cards in sequence and the same suit.
