When poker player Michael Wax, the owner of a limousine company, got up from the poker table at the Borgata Casino Atlantic City, he had been playing for 17 hours in a cash game. Ben Affleck was one of the first big name celebrities to hit the poker tables and hold his own, and he is going to be showing just how much of his skill he had held on to when he plays in the charity tournament this August 3rd at Hollywood Park Casino in Los Angeles, California. The event will also feature Montel Williams, Norm MacDonald and Colin Quinn, and will raise money for the One Step Closer Foundation (OSCF) which supports the fight against cerebral palsy. The OSCF will get half of the proceeds from the charity, which will have a $500 buy in with rebuys.
Cubic Inches Bar & Grill, 1108 Holiday, will have a poker run, auction and other events Saturday to raise money for Chapman tornado victims. Registration for the poker run will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the bar, and last bike in is 5 p.m. Cost is $15 for one hand or $30 for three hands.
