Main event draws near in World Series of Poker
Rounders and dreamers, stars and unknowns hey’re all converging on Las Vegas this week to try to turn a chunk of cash into a huge windfall and earn a permanent spot in poker lore during the world’s biggest card game.

Poker terminology:
- GOOD GAME - A game with players worse than you so that you can expect to win a lot of money.
- TOURNAMENT - A highly structured game involving potentially dozens of tables where all participants pay an entry fee and obtain a fixed number of chips. Once a tournament has started, additional players may not enter. As the game progresses players bust out and are eliminated until only one winner remains.
- BOAT - A FULL HOUSE, three of a kind and a pair.
- DOOR [CARD] - A player's first upcard in stud games.
- DEALER'S CHOICE - In home games, a rule that permits the dealer to name which poker game to be played that hand. Often limited to selecting from a list provided.
- TO GO - The current betting level, as in "$20 to go" meaning every player must contribute $20 (total) or drop. A $10 raise would then make the pot "$30 to go".
