World Poker Showdown Joins with Canadian Poker Tour
Heads Up Entertainment recently acquired the Canadian Poker Tour, which has announced they are joining with the World Poker Showdown in order to promote events. Starting in Calgary the WPS will kick off its 2008 season with events throughout Canada. Players will have a chance to appear on televised poker events which are broadcast as CPT Invitation Finals to be held in January of next year…

- PAY OFF - Calling a bet with little expectation of winning, unless the opponent is bluffing.

- CARDS SPEAK - Winner(s) of the hand are determined by turning their cards face up, the best hand(s) wins (no declaration).
- RUNNER-RUNNER - A hand made using both of the last two cards dealt.
- BLANK - Used in describing stud and Hold'em games. Refers to a dealt card that does not offer any value; stating the actual rank and suit would detract from a description of the hand. "The last card was a blank.".
- RIVER - The last card dealt in a hand of stud or Hold'em.
