Benefit poker run planned
ABILENE — A poker run and other events are planned for May 31 to raise money for medical expenses incurred by Sonia Roe, who has been diagnosed with liver and colon cancer.

- HOOK - A Jack. So named because the "J" resembles a hook.
- POCKET ROCKETS - In Hold'em, a pair of aces for hole cards.
- BOARD - The exposed cards in Hold'em and stud. Also BOARD CARDS.
- MANIAC - A player who bets, raises and reraises without regard to the quality of his hand. Most often found in flop games.
- RING GAME - A standard game where players can come and go as they choose. The opposite of TOURNAMENT.
- ON TILT - Playing worse (usually, more aggressively) than usual because a player has become emotionally upset.
