WPA Upgrades Poker Tournament Rules; Card Rooms Around the World are Invited to Comment
Today the World Poker Association announced completion of its recommended 2008 Tournament Rules, for use in poker tournament competition around the world. The New Rules will be distributed to players at the WPA Mega Satellite, which is the opening event on the schedule of the 2008 World Series of Poker - at noon, May 29th at the Rio All Suites Hotel in Las Vegas.

- STUD - Any of several poker games in which some of each players' cards are exposed.
- BIG SLICK - In Texas Hold'em, hole cards of A-K, suited or not.
- MANIAC - A player who bets, raises and reraises without regard to the quality of his hand. Most often found in flop games.
- RAINBOW - In flop games, a flop in which no two cards are of the same suit. "The flop was A 9 7 rainbow."
- STACKED [DECK] - A deck that has been arranged to give one player a huge advantage. Also: RIGGED.
- OUT - [1] A card that will improve your hand, often substantially. A hand with many OUTS is preferable to a hand with only 1 or 2. [2] Folded, ineligible to bet or win this hand. "I'm out" is often a synonym for "I fold".
