Officers seize video poker machines
Authorities recently seized three illegal video poker machines from a residence in Lincolnton, authorities said Thursday. Officers with the Lincolnton/Lincoln County Interagency Narcotics Unit made the raid on May 7. According to the sheriff’s office, the house at 2057 Dale Ave. was rented for the purpose of operating the poker machines which have taken in nearly $400,000 since August, 2007. …

- SIXTH STREET - The sixth card dealt in 7-card stud.
- LIVE ONE - The best kind of opponent, a poor player with a lot of money to lose and in a hurry to lose it.
- BUTTON CHARGE - A periodic fee paid by whoever is the button, perhaps every 20 minutes or 30 minutes. Constitutes part or all of the HOUSE CUT.
- FIXED LIMIT - A betting structure where the amount of each bet is a specific fixed quantity. Usually specified as A-B, where A is the amount to bet in the first few betting rounds and B (larger than A) is the amount bet in the later rounds. Related terms: FLAT LIMIT, NO LIMIT, POT LIMIT, SPREAD LIMIT.
- FOURTH STREET - In stud poker, the fourth card dealt to each player. Sometimes used to refer to the fourth community card dealt in Hold'em, although the more common term for this is TURN (q.v.).
- STACKED [DECK] - A deck that has been arranged to give one player a huge advantage. Also: RIGGED.
