Judge upholds state statute: Playing online poker for money still illegal
Playing poker for money online will remain illegal in Washington state, a King County Superior Court judge ruled this morning. But the Seattle-area attorney and poker aficionado who filed a lawsuit challenging the state’s right to regulate international online gambling said he will press forward to the Supreme Court if necessary.

- WHEEL - A-2-3-4-5. Usually discussed in the context of lowball where it is the best possible hand. Can also refer to a 5-high straight in high games. Also: BICYCLE.
- S&M - Sklansky & Malmuth. Generally refers to the ideas and algorithms published by these two authors. When used in a 7-card stud context, often refers to "7 Card Stud For Advanced Players", and when used in a Hold'em context, often refers to "Texas Hold'em For Advanced Players".
- BUTTON CHARGE - A periodic fee paid by whoever is the button, perhaps every 20 minutes or 30 minutes. Constitutes part or all of the HOUSE CUT.
- STRAIGHT FLUSH - A hand consisting of 5 cards in sequence and the same suit.
- SMALL BLIND - In games with two blinds the first blind is the SMALL BLIND because it is usually one-half (or less) the second or large blind.
- STUD - Any of several poker games in which some of each players' cards are exposed.
